[Sneakers] Nike Unveils Kobe 11

After announcing his retirement (after this season) not too long ago, Kobe Bryant has shown us glimpses of what has made him unquestionably one of the greatest basketball players ever.

Today, Nike revealed images and specs of the Eric Avar (pictured) designed, Kobe 11

As some of you might have noticed from my Tweets and IG, I am a HUGE fan of the Kobe X and currently may (or may not) have about 6 pairs in rotation (on court).

Growing up in the 90’s, I always had a traditional outlook towards ball shoes and previously preferred shoes with ankle support, but after 2012 that started slowly changing.

I played in the Nike Hyperdunk 2012 “BG” (Blake Griffin) and although it did offer ankle support, it wasn’t stiff and still allowed for a little bit of movement. In 2013-14, I started with the LeBron X and ended with the LeBron XI, only to realize both shoes were a little bit too heavy for my style of play.

Earlier this year, I decided to give low cuts a try and grabbed a pair of Kobe X “Vino”. Instantly fell in love.

Enough about me, onto the Kobe 11!

I love that they’ll have a full length lunarlon and zoom air heel unit, that is exactly what I love about the X! These will be dropping on January 9th 2016 and I can’t wait to get them on-court.

Aesthetically, they look very similar to the 10 which is a great thing for me and I’m excited to see what colour combos Nike has lined up. This would look great in all Purple and I can’t wait to see lots of bright pastels put together for the “Easter” edition.
